Recommended Devices for SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphone

The following Windows Mobile devices have been tested and work with SlingPlayer Mobile™ for Windows Smartphone. You may also find that other Windows Mobile devices that meet the system requirements work just fine. If your device is not listed, it does not mean it will not work well with SlingPlayer Mobile™. Additional recommended devices will be continuously added. We have received much enthusiasm regarding support for other mobile platforms, such as Palm, RIM Blackberry, Symbian, J2ME, and BREW. We are currently evaluating such opportunities for SlingPlayer Mobile, and will provide information on our website as soon as available.

Requirements

Please make sure all the requirements below are met BEFORE downloading and installing SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphone v1.0 on your device. In particular, you will need Slingbox firmware v1.0.63. (Reminder: when upgrading your firmware, it is advisable that you are on the same local network as your Slingbox.)
Please also note that this version of SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphone is not compatible with the PAL Slingbox, and also not compatible with Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices. A Slingbox is required to use SlingPlayer Mobile.

System (PC) Requirements

• Windows XP (SP2) Home/Pro/MCE/Win 2K (SP4)
  
• ActiveSync 4.1 or higher for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices
  
• Latest version of SlingPlayer PC installed
  
• Slingbox firmware 1.0.63 (or later)(the latest version of SlingPlayer PC has a firmware version that meets this minimum requirement)
  

Windows Mobile Device Requirements

To check the operating system version on your Smartphone, on your device, go to Start > Settings > About.

• Operating System: Windows Mobile Version 5.0 for Smartphone. [NOTE: this version is not compatible with Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices]
  
• CPU of 144 MHz (or higher)
  
• Network download speed of 120Kbps (or higher)
  
• At least 16 gray levels display but 65,536 color is recommended
  
• Audio support plus speakers or headphones (Stereo support recommended)
• Memory:
  
• At least 900KB to install SlingPlayer Mobile
  
• At least 4MB of available Program Memory to run it
  

Note: While these devices are supported by SlingPlayer Mobile, we strongly recommend you connect to your Slingbox using a 3G cellular connection that meets our minimum network download speed requirements of 120Kbps for optimal viewing experience.
